The Master's in School Counseling program prepares counselor candidates to support and advocate on behalf of the learning and social-emotional needs of children and adolescents in K-12 schools. The intensive, field-based school counseling degree prepares every candidate to work with diverse students and families, leading to an Illinois school counselor credential with an option to pursue licensure as an Illinois professional counselor.
This full-time, 3-year program consists of in-person classes on the Chicago campus. Part-time options are available. Admissions are open for fall start dates only.

You can also branch into areas such as mental鈥慼ealth counseling (with additional licensure), behavioral intervention, or education program coordination.
